Peritonitis
Intro
Peritonitis is inflammation of the thin tissue that surrounds the abdominal viscera. There may be a bacterial cause of the inflammation. There may also be a non-bacterial source such as fluid or blood leaking into the peritoneum and causing inflammation. A rupture of the appendix is another cause.
Risk Factors
Abdominal surgery
S&S
Referral Patterns
Abdominal pain
Special Tests
Blumberg's rebound test
